Extension of Vidar Viking
Following a long negotiation, it was confirmed in April that “Vidar Viking” would have its contract with client SEIC (Sakhalin Energy Investment Company) extended, which is a consortium of Gazprom (50%), Shell (27.5%), Mitsui (12.5%) and Mitsubishi (10%). The final option of the existing contract was used along with an extension of 8 months firm, plus an option to extend the contract by a total of 6 months. Vidar Viking is engaged in supply and standby duties for SEIC, serving in the oil and gas project “Sakhalin-2”. This project involves the development, including production and export of oil and liquefied natural gas (LNG), of two offshore fields: The Piltun-Astokhskoye and Lunskoye oil and gas fields located at the northeastern coast of Sakhalin. Vidar Viking serves three platforms: the PA-A (Molikpaq) Oil production platform that is linked to the Transsakhalin pipeline system going to the oil export terminal Prigorodnoye production complex, PA-B (Piltun-Astokhskoye-B), the largest platform in the Sakhalin-2 project, a processing and production platform for oil and gas from the Piltun reservoir, and the LUN-A platform, which is an offshore gas production platform. Vidar Viking has had an outstanding record since she first went on hire in 2012, and in the end, it is all about the vessel and the skillful crew, which is ultimately the extended marketing arm of the entire organization. In addition, there has been great support from our Moscow organization and the site office in Sakhalin, which has ensured a smooth, safe and excellent performance.
